Admission Standards
Students must be admitted and in good standing in either the OSU Ed.S. or Ph.D. program in School Psychology. These are the only students eligible to be awarded the M.S. in School Psychology en’route to their Ed.S. or Ph.D. degree.
- Students must be in good standing in either the Ph.D. or Ed.S. programs in School Psychology to be candidates for the M.S. in School Psychology.
- Eligible students must be approved by core SPSY faculty to be admitted to M.S. program while en’route to either the OSU Ed.S. or Ph.D. program in School Psychology.
- Candidates will be presented to the Graduate College to be admitted the semester in which they are to be awarded the degree by the program director.
Retention
- Maintain a minimum of a 3.25 average on a 4.0 scale in all academic work completed.
- A grade of B or better achieved on all school psychology service delivery course work.
- A grade of B or better achieved on SPSY 5110 and SPSY 5210 practica.
- Participate in annual student evaluation and feedback session through portfolio assessment during annual evaluation: portfolio submission fall of 2nd year
- Submit practica logs documenting the appropriate number of contact hours for SPSY 5110 and SPSY 5210.
Graduation
- Complete all coursework and practica for the M.S. in School Psychology
- Successfully complete one of the following: thesis or formal report as evidence of competencies in research design and methodology or Creative component demonstrating competencies in school psychology service delivery or contemporary issues in school psychology.
- Submit required artifacts in LiveText portfolio for annual evaluation demonstrating competencies in school psychology service delivery and educational and psychological foundations and contemporary issues
- Curriculum Vitae
- Written report of an individually administered test of cognitive ability (SPSY 5893 or SPSY 5803)
- PowerPoint or other work sample of educational and psychological foundations and contemporary issues in school psychology (SPSY 5023)
