Other Requirements

Admission to Upper Division (required)

  1. Refer to the OSU Catalog corresponding to your matriculation date and the Policy for Admission to the Upper Division of the Curriculum for CMT for detailed admissions requirements.
  2. Complete a minimum of 60 credit hours (from the degree plan) prior to admission to Upper Division.
  3. Achieve a minimum Selection GPA (SGPA) of 3.05 (from the Calculation Work Sheet of the CMT Application to Upper Division form).

Graduation Requirements

  1. A minimum overall GPA of 2.30 is required in all courses with engineering and engineering technology prefixes.
  2. A grade of ‘C’ or better is required in each course that is a prerequisite to a required course that has an engineering or engineering technology prefix.
  3. Each student is required to sit for the American Institute of Constructors Level 1 – Associate Constructors Certification Exam.

Additional State/OSU Requirements

  • At least: 60 hours at a four-year institution; 30 hours completed at OSU; 15 of the final 30 or 50% of the upper-division hours in the major field completed at OSU.
  • Limit of: one-half of major course requirements as transfer work; one-fourth of hours earned by correspondence; 8 transfer correspondence hours.
  • Students will be held responsible for degree requirements in effect at the time of matriculation and any changes that are made, so long as these changes do not result in semester credit hours being added or do not delay graduation.
  • Degrees that follow this plan must be completed by the end of Summer 2023.
